The HiFi Rose RS520 is a comprehensive, all-in-one streaming amplifier designed to be the central hub of your audio system, offering 250 watts per channel. It’s not just a source device with a built-in amplifier; it’s a meticulously engineered system where each stage is specified to rival multi-box setups, delivering a delicate, elegant, and controlled sound across the frequency range Design and Display The RS520 boasts an elegant and robust housing, with four surfaces crafted from a single piece of high-durability aluminum. This “one piece” construction method minimizes vibrations and standing waves, ensuring optimal sound quality. A striking 12.6-inch multi-touch LCD panel with a 1920 x 515 resolution provides a crystal-clear and intuitive interface for complete control of your listening experience. Core transport controls are also conveniently located on the top of the unit. ROSE OS: A World of Audio and Video At the heart of the RS520 is ROSE OS, HiFi Rose’s Android-based operating system, which unlocks extensive music and video functionality. You can play local files from USB, MicroSD, or SATA storage, or access content on your home network via DLNA. The intuitive Music app provides a clean presentation of all connected music sources. ROSE OS features built-in applications for Tidal , Qobuz , and Apple Music , offering full access to their vast streaming libraries. The Tidal app even supports music video streaming for playback on the RS520’s screen or via its HDMI output. The RS520 is also an MQA decoder , enabling full playback of Tidal Masters tracks. Beyond streaming, the CD and CD Ripping apps allow you to connect an external CD-ROM drive for convenient CD playback or to rip CDs in high quality to local storage. The Radio and Podcast apps provide access to extensive databases, while Rose Tube gives you access to YouTube for music and video. The RS520 also supports Roon Ready , Spotify Connect , and AirPlay , integrating your entire digital audio experience into one elegant system. ROSE OS is also engineered for high-performance sound. The Rose Audio Architecture , with its in-house developed RoseAudioServer , ensures pure, lossless audio data delivery to the DAC by separating audio processes from other operating system functions, preventing any compromise to the audio signal. Connectivity The RS520 is designed to be the nexus of your audio system, offering a wide array of inputs and outputs. It includes analog Line inputs, digital coaxial, optical, and USB inputs, as well as an HDMI eARC input for TV connection. For system integration, in addition to speaker binding posts, it provides outputs for external amplifiers or DACs, and an HDMI output for video content on a connected screen. Engineered for Sound Quality Every aspect of the RS520 is meticulously engineered for high-quality sound. Internal functions are segregated across separate boards with individual power feeds for optimized operation. The digital stage features a class-leading ES9038PRO DAC chip and an ultra-precise femto clock for optimized conversion and signal handling. HiFi Rose’s new discrete operational amplifiers in the IV circuit deliver a wide soundstage and warm tone. The 250-watt per-channel power amplifier stage utilizes Class AD (Advanced D) technology , adopted from the RA180 amplifier. By employing Gallium Nitride FETs instead of traditional Silicon FET technology, the amplifier achieves a more natural, analogue-like tone.
